Progressive Volunteers (PV) is a community-based organization founded in May 2007 to cultivate the spirit volunteerism amongst young people and also meet the critical needs of less privileged in the community through community projects. Most of our work is focused in the Ruaraka area -a deprived constituency in north east of Nairobi, Kenya.
The organization has since grown from six members to over 200 local and national volunteers, 23 international volunteers and over 150 online volunteers, promoting the mission and agenda of the organization.

Governance: Progressive Volunteers has a board of management comprising of seven members and a team of professionals serving in the advisory committee. The board provides a link between the communities and staff of the organization, interpreting the organization’s role and promoting its mission.

Project Coordinators- Progressive Volunteers has a project management team charged with the day to day management of the organization projects and volunteering activities.
Our mission is to utilize volunteerism to promote and enable community-led development.
This will meet local needs and strengthen community capacity to transform the lives of vulnerable, disempowered and disadvantaged members of society.
